Meters New Construction

As a Union County Water customer, you may interact with our AMI Services team for a wide variety of reasons. This team is responsible for installing, replacing and repairing all water meters throughout our service area, to ensure that every customer has a reliable meter that measures your water usage each month. We are currently working to transition all customers to automated meter reading through our Smart Meter Installation project.

This team also helps customers identify and resolve complex issues, such as high-water usage, major leaks, discrepancies in billing, and meter-related issues such as unauthorized meter alterations or meter failures. Our team collaborates with Customer Service to ensure that customers are well-informed about our utility’s operations. Oftentimes, this team’s expertise is called upon to help illustrate how customers can lower their monthly bills by changing household habits or making repairs on the customer’s side of the meter.

Developers and builders rely on our team to conduct final inspections of water meters, valves, and sewer infrastructure before they are approved for use and released into service. All meters used by Union County Water must meet local and national water utility regulations.

To learn more about our meter set process, please view this letter we sent to all home builders in our service area or our standard specifications for properly installed meters.

If you experience any issues with your water service, please contact Customer Service at water@unioncountync.gov or 704-296-4210.
