What is a Boil Water Advisory?

Boil Water Advisories may be issued if our water system has a loss of power, loss of water pressure, a pipe breaks or other unforeseen emergency. Water pressure keeps pollutants from entering our underground pipes that bring drinking water to your house or business. When the pressure is lost, it is possible that contaminants could seep into the pipes.

The advisory does not mean that the water is contaminated. It means it is possible for contaminants to enter the pipes and affect drinking water.

Customer Notifications

At the top of this page, we provide a chart of all Boil Water Advisories issued by Union County Water in the past 30 days, including those that have been rescinded within that timeframe. directly When a Boil Water Advisory is issued for a specific area, we notify affected customers directly using the billing contact information we have on file and  update this webpage with the latest information.

If you live in an affected area as listed above but did not receive any notification from us, the advisory may not have been applicable to your address or we may not have good contact information for you. You can update the contact information for your account by using the webform on our Contact Customer Care page.

If You Are Notified of a Boil Water Advisory

Until required testing is completed, we recommend - as a precaution - boiling tap water before consuming it to kill any potential contaminants. You could also use bottled water during this time.
