Our Fats, Oils, & Grease (FOG) page explains the proper disposal methods for fats, oils, and grease as part of our ongoing "Protect Your Pipes" customer education series. We share FOG messages through utility bill inserts (including the message below), social media messaging, and other forms of customer education throughout the year.  

Our staff visit restaurants and commercial kitchens to help educate owners, managers, and staff about how putting FOG down the drain is not only bad for our wastewater system and the environment, but also bad for business and keeping their kitchens clean and functional. 

We provide the free poster at right to restaurants and commercial kitchens as a reminder to all restaurant workers that "sinks are not trash cans" and that FOG should always be disposed of in the trash. Download this print-friendly (8.5x11) poster in English and Spanish to share this important with your church, civic group, community center, HOA clubhouse, workplace, small business, or any other space with a kitchen, sink, and/or food preparation area. 

You may have seen our FOG Program's van around town, which we use to share our key messages about FOG as we conduct grease trap inspections at restaurants and commercial kitchens in our service area.

Our staff completed inspections at more than than 300 food service establishments and over 30 Union County Public School sites annually. These inspections serve to protect our wastewater system, improve local water quality, and help kitchen staff learn best practices for FOG disposal.
