Union County Water is a member of NCWaterWarn, a mutual aid organization through which we provide support for fellow water utilities throughout the state after natural disasters and other emergencies. We were honored to provide support and loan equipment to communities in the North Carolina mountains following Hurricane Helene. Several UCW employees deployed to areas where water and wastewater infrastructure was severely damaged; other team members worked in the State's Emergency Operations Center, taking calls from utilities in need, documenting their requests and connecting them with available resources throughout the state.   

Volunteerism is integral to our work culture. Union County employees receive two days of paid volunteer time off each year, and many Union County Water employees spend that time volunteering together with local food pantries, helping with the Union County Christmas Bureau, or beautifying our community through litter clean-up events. 

We also have fun together! The Union County Fun Committee organizes activities for county employees after-hours, including bowling events and holiday gatherings.
