Quality & TransparencyOur drinking water consistently meets or exceeds all federal and state standards for water quality, and we proactively share information about our wastewater operations to ensure transparency with our customers and the general public. We monitor federal and state regulatory requirements to ensure that we remain in full compliance and that we are following best practices for water and wastewater operations. |

Customer ServiceCustomer service is at the heart of everything we do. Whether you send us a message through our Customer Portal, contact us by email, call us at 704-296-4210, or interact with our staff in person, our goal is to ensure you receive the same high-level of customer service. |
Fiscal StewardshipWe are a fiscally responsible utility. Our rates and fees are set annually by the Union County Board of Commissioners. We reinvest in our system to ensure reliable service to our customers, and we accept newly constructed infrastructure - paid for as part of private development, not by ratepayers - when it meets our standards. |
Education & OutreachOur staff engages with our community by volunteering with local nonprofit organizations, giving tours of our facilities, visiting local schools, and participating in special events and career fairs in our area. Customer education starts with our youngest customers! Children are fascinated with the water cycle and ask our staff the best questions about where their water comes from and where it goes. To help kids find answers to these questions, we donate copies of a wonderful children's book: "Winn and Doug the Waterdrops: A Water Cycle and Wastewater Story" - to the Union County Library and local schools' libraries. |

Environmental ProtectionOur mindfulness for Union County's natural landscape and our planet's finite resource of water is evident in how we manage our operations and in our public outreach efforts. A personal commitment to environmental protection is a major reason why many engineers and technicians choose a career in water and wastewater management, as the profession offers the opportunity to practice environmental stewardship in practical and meaningful ways. We practice water conservation year-round, and we have a plan in place to increase our water conservation requirements in times of drought. We collaborate with our regional partners to ensure that our practices align during times of water shortage in our area. |
Customer CommunicationWe communicate with our customers in a variety of ways. We publish news and alerts on our website, we share information via our Customer Portal, we insert messages in our monthly billing statements, and - in some scenarios - we send service alerts to customers by phone, text, or email. We also share information with our customers through videos and Union County's social media sites. We work to educate customers on how our system works and how customer behavior can help ensure employee safety, lower costs, and protect personal property and the environment. |
