Union County Water owns and operates five wastewater treatment plants, or Water Reclamation Facilities (WRF). Each of these facilities treat wastewater from specific drainage areas:
- Twelve Mile Creek (our primary wastewater treatment plant),
- Crooked Creek;
- Tallwood Estates;
- Grassy Branch; and
- Olde Sycamore.
Our staff closely monitors the wastewater treatment capacities at these facilities. Permitting capacity is evaluated using the actual plant flows plus the permitted/obligated flows.
The latest information on our wastewater capacity is published on our website. The information was recently updated and can be found on this page.
We invite you to learn more about our wastewater operations and the steps we take every day to protect water quality and the natural environment. You can help support our wastewater operations and protect your property's pipes by putting fats, oils and grease (FOG) and wipes in the trash where they belong. Learn more at the following pages:
Union County Water is pleased to participate in Union County's educational outreach efforts. If you would like to invite a member of our staff to speak to a classroom of students or your neighborhood, church or civic group, or to request a tour of one of our treatment plants, please visit this page and scroll down to the section about Water to peruse available options and topics of interest.
