Union County Water invites all customers to participate in Union County's annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event. Organized by the County's Solid Waste Department, this annual event provides county residents with the opportunity to dispose of household quantities of certain hazardous materials at the Union County Agricultural Center (3230 Presson Road, Monroe) on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

All materials must be in their original labeled containers. Here's what you can bring for free disposal:

  • paints*
  • pesticides & herbicides*
  • household cleaners*
  • gasoline*
*up to five gallons each of any of the above materials
  • up to three propane or helium tanks (grill size only)
  • up to five boxes of documents for shredding
  • expired or unneeded medications (over-the-counter, prescription, or unknown) for safe disposal through Operation Medicine Drop, a service of the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
For the safety of our public wastewater system, the environment, and your home's plumbing system, these materials should never be poured down the drain or flushed down the toilet.  Please dispose of these materials safely at the Household Hazardous Waste event.
